Ano Kato

Ano Kato plays various styles of Greek music, both of the cities as from the 'rural'. The music is authentic, melancholic, full of fire and often very cheerful. Greek music is almost always dance music.

Rebetika arose at the beginning of the last century in the heart of the
ancient Greek cities and was the music of the bottom layer of the
population: music from the displaced, oppressed and adventurers. The population where the middle
class looked down on.

Yet this
music gained popularity and in the 50s it resulted in the laika
which was less severe: songs for everyone, which to this day are sung and
composed.

Dimotika (folk) songs
are from the provinces and the islands. Pure dance music. Often very old and from anonymous
basis, but they are also still newly composed.

Besides
vocal harmonies Ano Kato plays instruments which are traditionally used in
Greek folk music, such as bouzouki, baglamas, guitar, clarinet, bántzo,
tzourás and défi.

Ano Kato makes music that is suitable for concerts, parties, events, buffets and other occasions in which Greece plays a role.
